Grammie, McKenna, Jason and I took a drive up to the Hualapia mountains outside of Kingman, AZ. It was so beautiful! We had lunch there and we were visited by female elks outside of the restaurant window! After lunch, we took a walk and collected pine cones.
The family went on a drive to Nevada to visit Bonnie Springs ghost town and petting zoo. McKenna enjoyed the animals. Jason got picked to be in a re-creation of an old west hanging. He was quite a sport!
McKenna started 2nd grade on August 7th. She loves her new teacher and her class! She really enjoys reading and going to the library to check out chapter books! She continues to go to Sylvan for additional help with Math and Reading...we are seeing great results!
We went to a Jimmy Buffett (parrothead weekend) at the Avi. It was lots of fun! McKenna went to Kid's Quest while the adults listened to Margaritaville and had some boat drinks! My mom, being the creative one of the bunch, made a hat for Jason to wear for the costume contest. You can see it here: big volcano, "cheeseburger in paradise", "lost shaker of salt", "margaritaville". He won 3rd place ($75 bucks!).
Alice and Christina came to visit us for a few days, we had a great time. We took out the boat and both water bikes and rode down to Lake Havasu for lunch. The girls loved going on the water bikes, we could hear Christina screaming from miles away! Everyone had a great time and can't wait until they can come back again and visit.
